Using Dessert Recipe Blogs To Get Organize

By Alison Wilcox

Many people enjoy ending a good meal with something sweet. They may choose an old favorite, or taste test something new. Cooks and chefs look for recipes for inspiration. Creating dessert recipe blogs is an excellent way to organize and present instructions for the preparation of many different dishes. Create blogs for your own benefit, the enjoyment of friends and family, or to earn money through sales and affiliate links.

You will need to choose a domain name that fits your blog. Try to keep it short and simple. This is not always as easy as it sounds. Only one user can register a particular domain name. You may come up with a perfect name only to discover it is already in use. If your name is taken, try adding a descriptive phrase to the end of it. It may require a few tries to find an available name that you like.

Step two is finding a web host. A web host or provider is a company that may be located in any country in the world that sells space on its servers to customers to store websites and blogs. Companies may also provide addition services such as registering domain names as well. Fees for services vary by company.

A blogging platform is needed to design your dessert recipe blogs. Some platforms are template based and let you only change layout and color. Some templates are free, while others must be purchased from the system or another web site. Which platform you choose will depend on your computer experience and knowledge of design and intended use. Some platforms do not allow users to earn revenue in certain ways.

Blogging platforms that cost money may offer more options to customize your layout. If you know HTML you have even more options. While free to use blogging platforms may have space restrictions, systems you pay for will let you pay to add space as needed. If your intent is to create several blogs and earn money, it is easier to set up with a paid host that will provide the needed space before you run out and have to switch over.

An eye-catching blog can be created by experimenting with different color combinations and layouts, even with free templates. Blogs are a collection of multiple posts that accumulate with the most recent on top. Older posts move down the page and eventually get put in archives. Posts are put in categories and dated allowing access even when archived.

Unique content will help get your blog recognized by viewers and by the search engines. This is especially necessary if you want to make money from your writing. You may write the content yourself, or have others write content for you.

When you create content for your dessert recipe blogs make sure it is original. Avoid posting recipes taken without permission from cookbooks and other sites. It is generally accepted that a list of ingredients cannot be copyrighted but how they are put together can be. Use the same diligence when posting pictures of ingredients, or completed dishes. Take your own photos if possible and tag the image with your name or a statement of ownership. If you use public domain or purchased images, credit them as advised by the site they are from.
